Chicken Cordon Bleu
2 chicken breasts
1 pkg (397 g) puff pastry
8 slices ham
4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
4 slices Havarti cheese
1/2 tsp Brass Ring Original
Preheat oven to 350 F
Slice chicken parallel to the counter so that you get 4 chicken breast that are thin and somewhat equal size. Place in a pan with olive oil and bake for 20 - 30 mins or until done. Set aside to cool.
While cooling, divide pastry into 4 pieces and roll out enough to place chicken in centre and be able to fold over.
Sprinkle with BR Original
Place 2 slices ham on each piece of chicken
Place 1 slice each Jack and Havarti cheese on each piece of chicken
Fold puff pastry over chicken and pinch edges. Place in oven for 30 - 40 mins or until golden brown. You can seal the edges with an egg wash and brush the outside with melted butter, but we skip those steps and it’s still delicious.
** try it with different cheeses, or give the ham a quick fry in a hot pan to carmelize and give it some texture and give the dish almost a smoky flavour. Our Spicy or Cajun will also add a nice bit of heat. Lots of possibilities.
